Comfort Zone or Leap of Faith

Tessa Jonassen - Wednesday, July 02, 2014

It has been so long since I have written on this blog page that it took me some time to figure out where to find the template and how to go about it!

It is interesting that I have chosen this time to write as I am sitting in chaos in my home based clinic/healing room trying to get organised for tomorrow. Perhaps I am responding to the moment and wanted to share the experience with you.

Tomorrow I am spreading my wings and will be working from a room outside of my home sharing the space with an osteopath and a massage therapist for two days a week.

I have had the feeling or sense for some time that I needed to me more visible or to put it another way to be more in the community. My home based clinic is lovely, cosy, full of crystals, flower essences and other tools that I use to assist clients. Everything is at my finger tips, it is all familiar and I have a high level of comfort here.

Clients, both adults and children, love coming here, so why did I feel the need to move out. I love being in my comfort zone because, well it is so comfortable.  I can keep my slippers on until a client arrives, I can walk out in the garden and commune with nature, I can chat to my family and put on a load of washing between sessions.  The personality came up with so many reasons for staying small and comfortable, the list could probably fill this page.

So why am I going to a place where I don't have these creature comforts that I have become attached to?

Well all that I can surmise is that when I checked in with my soul and asked what the next step was for me the answer was to be more visible, to be part of the community, to reach a wider range of people. I knew that these promptings were true, because I had been saying that I wanted to help more children and to support all members of a family who need assistance with their well-being and to manage their stress levels in this crazy busy world.

So as I sit here and write I can clearly see why that tomorrow I will load up my car with my crystals, flower essences and the blankets that I lay over clients during the healing sessions.  It is because that is what my soul has been asking me to do. The personality has been taken out of the driving seat and the soul was able to run the show for just enough time to extract me from my comfort zone.  I feel that I have taken a leap of faith and have allowed a new chapter to begin.

Now all I have to do is organise the boxes so that I can put them in the car in the morning to drive off on this new adventure and I am sure that I will have a smile on my face and hopefully boots on my feet. Oh by the way I am still be seeing clients at home only now they know they may find me in my slippers!

The room that I will be working from is lovely too and I have been made really welcome.  Over the road I have a bunch of friends that were once colleagues, and there is a coffee shop called  Sip Kitchen down the road which serves great coffee, fresh organic and raw foods and delicious smoothies and most importantly I will be more accessible for those who hear the call to heal and change their lives.

What soul desire do you have that you have been procrastinating over or ignoring because you love being in your comfort zone? Do you feel the call to take off your slippers and put on your boots? What would be the first step that you could take?

Love and blessings
